Dutch Bros employees’ caught on camera and their act of kindness now is going viral

There are a lot of things going on in the world, and they’re not all particularly positive. A lot of the things you see in your news feed are enough to make you cry and not in a good way. Here’s a story that will likely bring a tear to your eye but for all the right reasons. Kindness may seem hard to find sometimes, but then there are times when it comes out of nowhere, and it’s glorious. This is just one of those stories. Share it. Make your friend’s news feeds a little less gloomy.

When baristas Pierce Dunn and Evan Freeman came to work their Saturday shift at this Washington Dutch Bros, they were expecting a normal day selling coffee and delicious baked goods. They never expected to be in a viral photo taking the world by storm.

After finding out that one of their regular customers had lost her husband, they offered her a free coffee, but as they handed it out, something amazing happened. Spontaneously, the drive-thru team put out their hands and said a prayer for the woman, halting the drive-thru for several minutes. Their kindness was recorded by Barbara Danner, the customer who took this picture and later posted it on Facebook.

“As soon as she said that, I was like, ‘There’s nothing more you need to say. We got this. We’re going to do what we do every time we get someone who’s in pain or hurt. We’re going to give them our love.’”

“Snapped this picture while waiting in line at the Dutch Bros on 138th Avenue today. Turns out the young lady in line ahead of us lost her 37-year-old husband last night. When the DB guys & gals noticed she was falling apart, they stopped everything and prayed with her for several minutes, invited her to come back for prayer and support, as well as anything else that she might need. Prayers for the young family, and you know where to stop for coffee!”

With all the negative things we see in the news day after day, it’s nice to see people doing nice things for each other “just because.” Remembering that everyone around you is human makes for a better society
