Have you ever seen such a perfect replica of the Titanic ?, If your answer is no then in this article we will show you.
This is possibly the largest replica of the Titanic, which has been built in just over 11 months or we could say that it has inverted 700 hours . This magnificent work has been created by Brynjar Karl Bigisson of Reykjavik in Iceland, who is only 10 years old and is autistic.
The young man, who is now 15 years old, built the replica with 56 thousand pieces of Lego . This is 8 meters long and 1.5 meters high.
Brynjar commented that since he was 5 he started playing with Legos and spent hours building anything.
“Sometimes I have based on instruction manuals to build and other times I’ve only used my imagination ,” Brynjar said.
For a time his greatest passion were the trains but it was when his grandfather took him to weigh on a boat, when he ended up monopolizing all his interest, at that time he was 10 years old and knew enough about the Titanic.
¨When I traveled with my mother to Legoland in Denmark for the first time and looked at all those incredible models of planes, boats and houses for the first time, I started thinking about my own Lego model. Then I came up with the idea of building a model of the Lego Titanic , “added the young man.
This was somewhat familiar project because he had the help of grandfather Ogmundsson who is an engineer. The grandfather reduced the original model of the Titanic to the size of the Lego, also helped his grandson to lower the exact number of Lego pieces that would be needed.
“If I had not been supported, I could never have made my dream come true ,” Brynjar commented.
Some relatives and friends made donations so he could buy the necessary pieces to create the model.
The young boy comments that he managed to embrace his autism through the construction of this replica, one of the most famous ship in the world.
At first he says that he had problems communicating, which made him feel disappointed and lonely, however, now he has more confidence in himself and has even begun to give interviews about the process of this wonderful construction.
“When I started this project, at the school there was a support teacher who helped me with all the activities and tasks, but now I can study without any support. My grades have improved and now I have made friends with several partners. I have had the opportunity to travel, explore and meet incredible people, “Brynjar concluded.
The young man’s mother said that at first she had no idea what the future of his son with autism would be like and worried about all the obstacles that he could face. Now she is very happy to be able to share with parents of other children with autism that it is possible to get ahead and make dreams come true.
